Kuala Baram Cycling Race 5.0 – 2026

The Kuala Baram Cycling Race 5.0 is one of Sarawak’s most anticipated cycling events, returning to the beautiful coastal roads of Miri for its fifth edition on 1–2 August 2026. Jointly organised by the Miri City Council and Masterpiece Cycling Club, and supported by the Ministry of Tourism, Creative Industry and Performing Arts Sarawak, this two-day event lives up to its tagline, Pedalling Through Nature, with stunning seaside scenery and competitive racing for all levels.

Day 1 – Team Time Trial (TTT) takes place on Saturday, 1 August 2026, with a flag-off at 8AM from Junction Jalan Maigold along Jalan Lutong–Kuala Baram. Teams will race a 20km out-and-back course, competing in three categories: Men Open, Men Master, and Sarawak Closed. Prize money for the TTT ranges from RM150 (5th place) to RM550 (1st place) per category.

Day 2 – Mass Start Individual Road Race is held on Sunday, 2 August 2026, flagging off at 7AM from Miri City Hall (Jalan Bandaraya). The 20km road race loops through Jalan Marina Utama, Jalan Brighton, Jalan Bakam, Jalan Coastal Bintulu–Miri, Jalan Luak Bay, Jalan Tanjong Lubang, and back to the finish. Six individual categories are contested: Men Open, Men Master A, Men Master B, Men Veteran, Men Junior, and Women Open, with top prizes of up to RM1,500, plus special Sprint Champion and KOM Champion awards of RM100 each. Team Overall prizes are also awarded across Men Open, Men Master, and Sarawak Closed categories.

All registered participants are entitled to an event T-shirt, finisher medal, race bib, timing transponder, insurance coverage, and refreshments after the Sunday race. Early bird registration is available at RM600/team and RM130/individual until 30 April 2026, with normal pricing of RM750/team and RM150/individual thereafter. Registration closes on 31 July 2026.
