8th Edition Layar Cycling Carnival 2026

The 8th Edition Layar Cycling Carnival 2026 (LCC 2026) returns to the lush landscapes of Layar, Betong, Sarawak on 28–30 August 2026. Now in its eighth year, this beloved cycling carnival brings together competitive cyclists from across Sarawak and Malaysia for three action-packed days of racing, camaraderie, and celebration in the heart of Borneo.

The carnival features two race formats: a Criterium held on 29 August and a Road Race on 30 August. The Criterium takes place on a closed circuit near Mid-Layar and offers categories including Youth (13–15), Junior (16–18), Men Open (19–29), Master A (30–39), Master B (40–49), Super Master (50 and above), Sarawak Closed, Betong Closed, Women Open (16 and above), and Ladies Youth (13–15). The Road Race covers a challenging 102.13km route with 722m of total ascent and descent, winding through the scenic roads surrounding Betong.

Prize money is on offer across all Road Race categories, with the Men Open top prize at RM2,000, and most other categories awarding up to RM1,500 for first place, with payouts extending to 10th place. A Best Team prize of RM1,000 is also up for grabs. All participants receive an exclusive LCC 2026 jersey and a finisher medal upon completion of their event.

Early bird registration is available at RM95 until 20 July 2026, with normal registration at RM110 (Youth: RM30). The registration closing date is 15 August 2026.
