The Heritage Ride Taiping 2026 is a celebration of cycling, community, and the timeless charm of Taiping, one of Malaysia’s most historic towns. Flagging off at 7:00am on Sunday, 25 October 2026 from Dataran Warisan, Taiping, the ride gathers up to 2,500 cyclists for a day of riding through heritage streets, scenic countryside, and the famous Taiping Lake Gardens. Billed as “a ride that stays with you,” it is built around a simple goal: ride better, feel better, and stay connected, with a place on the road for everyone from fitness riders to seasoned racers.

Three distances cater to every level of rider. The 90km route is the championship distance, looping north through Kamunting, Simpang Empat (Semanggol), Tasik Bukit Merah, and up to Kubu Gajah before returning to Taiping, with a cut-off point at 11:00am and a qualifying finish time of 12:00pm. The 60km route shares much of the same scenery via Kamunting, Simpang Empat, Tasik Bukit Merah, and Changkat Jering, with an 11:00am qualifying time. The shorter 20km route stays in and around Taiping town and the Lake Gardens, making it ideal for newcomers, families, and students. Both the 90km and 60km routes are largely flat, while the 20km loop tops out around 164m of climbing.

Competitive categories for the 90km and 60km distances span Men’s Open (18-34), Men’s Master (35-44), Men’s Senior (45+), Women’s Open (18-39), and Women’s Master (40+). The 20km is offered as Open to All (18 and above) and a dedicated Student category for ages 7-17, the latter fully sponsored by the Ministry of Education Malaysia and capped at 250 slots.

Registration is tiered: Early Bird pricing runs until 5 July 2026, after which Normal rates apply from 6 July 2026. The 90km entry is RM180 (with jersey) or RM120 (without) during Early Bird, rising to RM210 / RM150 thereafter. The 60km is RM160 / RM100 Early Bird and RM190 / RM130 Normal. The 20km Open category is RM90 / RM30 Early Bird and RM120 / RM60 Normal, while sponsored students pay RM60 (with jersey) or ride free without one.

All 90km and 60km finishers receive an event T-shirt, goodies bag, bib number, timing chip, finisher medal, online certificate, and refreshments. The 20km package includes the event T-shirt, goodies bag, bib number, finisher medal, and refreshments. Prize money is on offer across every competitive age group: 90km category winners take home RM800 + trophy (champion), RM500 (1st runner-up), and RM300 (2nd runner-up), while 60km winners earn RM500, RM300, and RM200 respectively, with trophies down to 4th place.

Set against the backdrop of Taiping’s heritage architecture, lush rain trees, and the still waters of the Lake Gardens, The Heritage Ride is co-organised by GoSportz Sdn Bhd with support from local Taiping authorities. Whether you are chasing a podium or simply showing up to ride together again, register before the Early Bird window closes to lock in the best rate and secure one of the limited slots.
