Registration Closed

If you were entered for the night of 12 September, that ride is not happening. RHB and LEKAS postponed it on 8 September, four days out, because of unhealthy air quality from the haze. No new date has been announced, only that one will follow once conditions improve. Race packs were already handed out on 5 and 6 September, and the organiser has not said whether those bibs and timing chips carry over, so keep hold of them. The announcement went out on the organiser’s social channels; the event website was still showing the old race-day information at the time of writing, so check Instagram (@lekashighwayride) rather than the website. Queries go to enquiry@gosportz.my or 03-9057 0222.

Everything below describes the ride as it was scheduled. Treat the timings as provisional: a new date will come with its own programme, and the flag-off had already moved once before this.

It is the 11th edition of Malaysia’s largest highway night ride, taking over the Kajang-Seremban Highway (E21). The first wave was to flag off at 8.30pm from Kajang Selatan Toll Plaza, rescheduled from the 7.45pm start originally published so that it followed the 6.00pm highway closure. For one night the expressway is fully closed and lit: smooth tarmac, no traffic lights and no junctions. The field is capped at 6,000 riders.

Four distances are offered. The 105km is the headline ride for those 22 and above, run as Men’s Open, Women’s Open and Men’s Veteran (45+), plus a Corporate / Open Team competition scored on each team’s best three finishers. The 78km adds a Women’s Veteran category (40+) and Young Adult categories for ages 17 to 21. The 17km Fun Ride is open to anyone 17 and above, with a separate Teens category for 13 to 16, and the 12km is a children’s ride for ages 10 to 12. Age for every category is calculated as at 31 December 2026.

The 105km route runs out and back from Kajang Selatan Toll Plaza, passing Semenyih Toll Plaza and Pajam Toll Plaza, with turnaround points at 75km and 88km and a KOM section early in the ride. Support stations with water and medical cover sit at the Beranang R&R, reached at 68km and again at 95km.

Because this is a night event the cut-offs are strict. On the 105km there are three: the Ampangan U-turn at 39km by 11.00pm, the Semenyih interchange at 76km by 12.45am and the Pajam interchange at 90km by 1.30am, with a qualifying finish at Kajang Selatan Toll Plaza of 2.30am. The 78km has a single cut-off at the Ampangan U-turn at 39km by 11.00pm and a 1.30am finish. Riders diverted at a cut-off are picked up and do not receive a finisher’s medal. Timing chips are used on all four distances and results appear at gosportz.my within five working days.

Race packs were collected in advance on 5 and 6 September 2026 at IOI Mall Damansara, and there is no collection at the LEKAS Highway on event day, so anyone who missed both days should contact the organiser rather than turn up expecting a bib. Riders need their IC or passport on the night. Every entrant receives a goodies bag, bib, timing chip, finisher’s medal, online certificate and refreshments. The event jersey is optional on the 105km and 78km individual categories, where entering without it takes RM40 off the fee, while 17km and 12km entrants get an event t-shirt instead. Road, sports, touring, hybrid, mini velo, folding and mountain bikes are permitted; disc wheels, aero or extension bars, brakeless fixies and dedicated time trial bikes are not.

On the night

Park at Bandar Teknologi Kajang. The organiser has asked riders to keep off the Kajang Selatan Toll Plaza itself, the highway roadside and the laybys, all of which sit inside the closure.

Medical cover is heavier than the water stops alone suggest: an IJN mobile clinic trailer sits at the main event site, with ambulances, medic bikes and staffed medical stations spread along the route. Medics wear the event t-shirt. Mechanical support comes from Jami Bike Centre, with neutral service at the main venue and support cars following the back of the 105km and 78km fields. There are no mechanic cars with the lead peloton, so anyone riding at the front is on their own kit.

The timing chip rides on the front bike bib, not the frame: mount it at the front with about a 1cm gap from any carbon surface, and keep the number plate separate.

The haze is what ended this date: the organiser said on 6 September that it was monitoring air quality along the route, then postponed the ride outright two days later.

Schedule

Highway closed from 6.00pm on 12 September until 4.30am on 13 September. Flag-off from 8.30pm. 105km cut-offs: 39km by 11.00pm, 76km by 12.45am, 90km by 1.30am, qualifying finish 2.30am. 78km cut-off: 39km by 11.00pm, qualifying finish 1.30am.
