The Putrajaya Gran Fondo takes advantage of Malaysia’s purpose-built federal capital, where wide, impeccably maintained boulevards and iconic architecture create a cycling paradise. Putrajaya’s road network was designed with generous lanes and smooth surfaces, making it one of the most pleasant places to ride in the country. The 2026 event starts and finishes at Dataran Putrajaya, the grand central square overlooked by the Prime Minister’s Office.

The 120km route ventures beyond Putrajaya into the surrounding districts of Cyberjaya and Dengkil, crossing through palm oil estates and Malay kampung villages before returning via the Putrajaya Lake circuit. The 80km option covers Putrajaya’s internal road network comprehensively, including all the major bridges and precincts, while the 40km route focuses on the scenic lakeside roads and parklands. All routes feature Putrajaya’s signature rolling terrain, with short, punchy climbs between precincts.

One of the great advantages of this event is its accessibility. Putrajaya is served by the KLIA Transit rail line and is just 30 minutes from KL Sentral. Free parking is available at several designated lots near the start. The post-event celebration at Dataran Putrajaya features a food market with vendors from across Malaysia, live performances, and an awards ceremony. The event typically wraps up by noon, leaving plenty of time to explore Putrajaya’s botanical gardens and lake cruise.
