The Pahang East Coast Touring Week is Malaysia’s premier supported bicycle touring event, a seven-day journey that showcases the diverse landscapes of Pahang, Malaysia’s largest state. Starting from the east coast beach of Teluk Cempedak in Kuantan, the route meanders along the coastline before turning inland to climb through the rainforest to the cool highlands of Cameron Highlands. It is cycling tourism at its finest.
The daily stages average 60-80km, with a rest day at the midpoint in Cherating. Days 1-3 follow the coastal road through fishing villages, turtle-nesting beaches, and the charming surf town of Cherating. Days 5-7 head inland, climbing gradually through palm oil estates and indigenous Orang Asli areas before the final ascent to Cameron Highlands. The terrain ranges from flat coastal riding to challenging mountain roads, giving touring cyclists a comprehensive experience.
The all-inclusive fee covers seven nights of accommodation (beach resorts on the coast, highland lodge at Cameron Highlands), all breakfasts and dinners, daily luggage transfer, mechanical support vehicle, and experienced ride leaders. Riders need a touring or road bike in good condition and should be comfortable with 80km days on varied terrain. Group sizes are limited to 40 riders to maintain a personal experience. This event sells out quickly, as it offers one of the most complete cycling holiday experiences in Southeast Asia.
