The Malaysia National Track Cycling Championships is the pinnacle of domestic track cycling, held at the state-of-the-art National Velodrome in Nilai. This world-class facility, with its 250m wooden track and 6,000-seat capacity, has hosted international events including the Asian Track Cycling Championships and provides Malaysian riders with one of the finest track cycling venues in Southeast Asia.
The three-day program covers the full range of Olympic track disciplines. Sprint events include the individual sprint, team sprint, and keirin, while endurance events feature the individual pursuit, team pursuit, points race, scratch race, and omnium. The 2026 edition also includes a madison event, reflecting its return to the Olympic program. Categories span from Under-15 juniors through Elite, with Masters categories for riders over 35.
Track cycling has been one of Malaysia’s strongest Olympic sports, with Azizulhasni Awang blazing a trail on the world stage. The national championships serve as a key selection event for international competition and are a showcase for the next generation of Malaysian track talent. For spectators, track cycling is one of the most exciting sports to watch live, with the velodrome’s acoustics amplifying the thunder of fixed-gear bikes on the boards. Entry for spectators is free, and the venue is accessible from KL via the KLIA Transit line to Nilai station.
