Langkawi MTB Jamboree 2026

The Langkawi MTB Jamboree is a two-day mountain biking celebration on one of Southeast Asia’s most beautiful islands. Based at the Oriental Village at the foot of the Langkawi Cable Car, the event combines competitive XC racing on Day 1 with a more relaxed trail ride on Day 2, catering to both racers and recreational mountain bikers.

Day 1’s XC course covers 30km on a circuit through the jungle behind Gunung Mat Cincang, Langkawi’s second-highest peak. The trails are technical and rooty, climbing through dense rainforest with sections of exposed rock and tight switchbacks. Racers complete multiple laps, while recreational riders complete a single lap. Day 2 shifts to a trail riding format, covering 25km on a point-to-point route from the Oriental Village through the island’s interior to Pantai Cenang, passing mangrove forests, rice paddies, and traditional Malay kampungs.

The island setting creates a festival atmosphere, with many participants making a long weekend of it. Langkawi’s duty-free status keeps costs down, and the island offers excellent accommodation from budget hostels to luxury resorts. The Oriental Village venue, with its cable car, SkyBridge, and restaurant complex, provides entertainment for non-riding companions. A bike wash station and basic mechanical support are available at both the start and finish venues.
