The KL to Melaka Charity Ride is one of Malaysia’s most popular fundraising cycling events, combining a meaningful cause with an epic 150km ride from the nation’s capital to its most historic city. All proceeds support the Malaysian Red Crescent Society’s disaster relief and community preparedness programs. Since its inception, the ride has raised over RM2 million for humanitarian causes across Malaysia.
The route follows the old trunk road (Route 5) south from Kuala Lumpur through Seremban and into Melaka, avoiding the highway and keeping riders on quieter secondary roads. The terrain is gently rolling through Negeri Sembilan before flattening out in Melaka’s coastal plains. Full motorcycle escort and road marshalling keep riders safe, with aid stations every 20km providing food, water, and mechanical support. A lunch stop at the 90km mark in Tampin offers a chance to refuel and regroup.
This is a fully supported ride, not a race, with an emphasis on completing the distance together as a community. Riders of all levels are welcome, though a minimum training base of 100km rides is recommended. Each registration fee includes a RM100 charitable donation, event jersey, meals along the route, finisher’s medal, and bus transfer back to KL with bike transport. Corporate teams are encouraged, with company logos featured on the event backdrop for teams raising above RM5,000.
