KL Bike Week is the capital’s premier cycling festival, transforming Kuala Lumpur’s busiest roads into a two-wheeled paradise for one glorious weekend. Organised by KL City Hall, this event shuts down major arteries including Jalan Bukit Bintang, Jalan Ampang, and the KLCC area, allowing thousands of cyclists to ride freely past the Petronas Twin Towers, KL Tower, Merdeka 118, and other iconic landmarks without a single car in sight.

The 42km Sportive route takes riders on a comprehensive tour of KL’s highlights, from the colonial grandeur of Merdeka Square to the gleaming towers of the Golden Triangle, through the leafy streets of Bangsar, and along the revitalised Klang River waterfront. The 15km Fun Ride loops around the KLCC and Bukit Bintang areas, perfect for families and casual cyclists. Both routes feature photo opportunities at every major landmark.

Beyond the rides, KL Bike Week includes a cycling expo at KLCC Park with brands showcasing the latest bikes and gear, a bicycle film festival, cycling advocacy talks, and food trucks from across the city. Saturday features the expo and fun activities, with the main rides on Sunday morning. This is one of KL’s most popular events, with over 10,000 riders participating in recent editions, so early registration is recommended.
